Terms & Conditions
- Zigzag Scrapstore may only be used by named individuals registered with a membership number. Scraps may not be collected on behalf of another individual or group member or non-member.
- Members must be 16 years old or more.
- Proof of current membership must be shown on entry to the Zigzag Scrapstore. You will be asked to sign in with your name and membership number and you may be asked to show ID.
- Quantities of materials taken must be appropriate for the number of people covered by your membership. Materials should be taken in amounts needed for immediate projects, not for long term future use.
- Members must present their collected scrap to staff before leaving with it.
- Annual members may visit the Scrapstore to collect materials as often as they need to. Pay As You Go members may collect materials up to 6 times a year.
- Membership gives free access to a fair share of the materials available. We reserve the right to place limits on the quantities of specific materials offered for collection by members, and monitor amounts collected to check they are within levels suitable for your membership type. Please discuss your needs with us if you have a project that requires more scrap materials than the restrictions normally allow.
- The Scrapstore cannot guarantee the availability of any specific materials, as all are donated to us and availability will vary.
- Strictly no re-selling is allowed of materials in the same condition as they were collected from the Scrapstore.
- We regret that the Scrapstore environment is not suitable for children under 12 during our regular opening days. Occasionally we may offer activities that include younger children, and we will make adjustments to the Scrapstore set up at these times to accommodate them.
- Members must follow health and safety rules at the Scrapstore, e.g. do not climb to reach items, or leave items spilled on the floor, or run in the store.
- Membership is not available to any group or individual discriminating against any other individual or group on the grounds of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or disability.
- Members should be polite to Scrapstore staff and volunteers at all times.
- If we have reasonable grounds to believe that the Membership Terms and Conditions have been contravened by any member or group as a whole, Zigzag Scrapstore CIC reserves the right to refuse admission to individual members or representatives and to suspend membership to that individual or group.
- Although every effort is made to ensure the materials available are clean and safe, any materials handled in the wrong way can be hazardous. We therefore accept no responsibility for the subsequent use, storage, or handling of the materials once they have left the premises.
- These Terms and Conditions are subject to change periodically by the Zigzag Scrapstore CIC directors.
